Proposal for Exploring Synergistic Solutions for Sustainable Development

Global Complementary Currency Pegged to the Production of Organic Living Biomass

Hélène Nivoix, January 2018

Pitch

The Organic Monetary Fund, set up as a division of the International Monetary Fund, will help to achieve almost all SDGs in record time.

The principle of the proposal is based on a new, responsible global governance tool called the Organic Monetary Fund (OMF), which would be set up as a division of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The OMF would issue an complementary currency called ‘the crocus’, and would grant such crocuses to each country as a ratio of the growth of rich and diversified living biomass in its farms using ‘carbon-farming’ practices.

The OMF-crocus scheme requires the establishment in such countries of ‘micro-farm clusters’, run as cooperatives by farmers prepared to assume responsibility collectively in the fight against climate change and in providing food safety and health. It is in fact designed to help achieve almost all SDGs in record time.
