The Inhabitants’ Network
Cesare Ottolini, Cristina Reynals, December 2016
The aim is to establish ‘Human Responsibilities’ as a third pillar, alongside ’ Human Rights’ and ‘Peace and Development’ of the United Nations Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
With this aim in mind, the Inhabitants’ Network has established the following objectives for 2015-2016:
Objective 1: To encourage organisations and networks involved in the struggle for the right to housing and to the city to act on a basis of shared responsibility, participating in decision-making and the agreement about proportional task-sharing.
Objective 2: To stimulate dialogue between stakeholders working on housing and urban development, especially among citizens participating in the World Urban Social Forum and the World Assembly of Inhabitants, but also at government and international levels, in the UN Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development, Habitat-III.
Objective 3: To promote the drafting and dissemination of a ‘Charter of Responsibilities for a Inhabitants’.
