The COVID-19 pandemic is ravaging across the globe, causing serious illness, death and disrupting life as we know it.

The medical emergency and the public response to it – most importantly the unprecedented restrictions to the movement of people but also on a range of economic activities — is also having a dramatic impact on economic activity.

The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) has launched three briefing papers targeting the social, economic and financial impacts of COVID-19 as well as public policy recommendations:
The World Economic Situation And Prospects: COVID-19: Disrupting lives, economies and societies, April 2020.
Addressing the social crisis through fiscal stimulus plans
Corona crisis causes turmoil in financial markets
UN DESA is organizing a webinar to present the main findings of these three new briefings as well as to create an opportunity to exchange views with stakeholders and partners from all over the world.
